Summer Lovin'

I know it's been a few months since it was released, but I just wanted to give you all a look at the fashion film I styled over the summer. Directed by my best gal, and starring the lovely Leigh Farrell, I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.  It was a sweltering 40 degree day, so please excuse my extremely voluminous (aka frizzy as hell) hair. I hope you enjoy a little taste of summer times past on this cold late-fall eve. x

Aurevoir Monsieur...

At the end of this past work week, I'd decided I was going to give myself a weekend to be a bit of a hermit, get some work done, and still get in a lovely lazy Sunday. And now, I give myself a pat on the back for finishing my French Cinema essay; one which, for some reason took me weeks to wrap my head around.  So to reward myself I came home from a serious Scrabble game to pamper myself with some Shine Gloss and a new episode of Fashion Television. I know it's belated, but their feature on Jean Paul Gaultier's last collection for Hermes reminded me how much I loved it when I first saw it, and I couldn't resist a quick post. The creamy brown, tan, and black colour palette is so warm, I can't help but want to lick it. And the straight brim hats sitting atop the heads of some of my favourite models were gorgeous. Joe Fresh's S/S collection had similar ones that I would love to get my hands on. So enjoy this sumptuous collection of western inspired ready to wear. I know I did.

Current form of procrastination...

What is it about the '80s and '90s that makes us all so damn nostalgic? My current form of procrastination: The age of the supermodels and their oh so glam, oh me oh my adverts from the decade that just won't die. Long live beanie babies, Shannen Doherty, and Versace jeans.

actually from 1971, but I simply couldn't help myself.

Blast from the Past

Thank you Jeanne Bekker, for reminding me of how amazing this collection was. Ah, monsieur Ghesquiere, thank you for making morning re-runs of Fashion Television so worth while.

yourKloset.com

I may have branched off into my own little blogosphere here at andsoshewould, but I shant forget my loyalty and love for my other baby, www.yourKloset.com. As editor of the Toronto section I've had the opportunity to meet and interview some amazing people, attend fashion weeks both here and in New York, and gotten to take home some pretty slick swag bags. But what's most exciting for this little fashion-fetishist, is the opportunity to stretch my styling muscles on our monthly editorials. As the inaugral shoot for the site about a month ago, I decided to hit the streets of Toronto with a beautiful lady, and some very talented friends for our take on the fall fashion trends. This is just a taste of what's to come at both yourKloset, and right here on this site. Stay tuned for holiday magic, and a special guest photographer that, I'm pretty sure, will have everyone going gaga. 'Til next time... :)

Current forms of procrastination:

Ah yes, 'tis that familiar time of year again, where school has heated up and I have put my mastermind to use finding endless forms of procrastinating fun. Can I help it if my brain would rather have me surfing the web and flipping through magazines clipping photos of pretty things for my endless inspiration boards? Woudn't you rather dance around your apartment mindlessly to great music while covered in layers of sheer-chiffon? Can I REALLY be blamed for watching endless episodes of the classic television series, "What Katie Did Next"? I mean, I've really got to know how Ms. Price is doing...come on now. I assure you, I will find the time to get the necessary amount of schooling completed, and will have all my assignments handed in perfectly on time. But in the mean time...Here are a few of the ways in which my penchant for procrastination has manifested itself. Hope you enjoy. :)
